Kevin & Tracy
We want to thank you for taking the time to view our profile. We have wanted a child for so long and we have so much to offer. We will be loving, supportive, and devoted parents. We look forward to providing your child with a warm, stable, and nurturing home full of love and encouragement. You are a courageous woman for considering this unselfish act of love for your child.
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
Our favorite vacations are without a doubt when we go to Charleston, South Carolina. We've been going there every year since 2008. We saw what Charleston looked like while watching a TV show and decided it looked like a nice place to visit. We love staying at the beach. There are always lots of families with their kids and dogs, walking up and down enjoying the ocean air. Charleston is full of not only great beaches, but also a lot of history, art and amazing food. We have our favorite restaurants that we visit each time we are there; Tracy's is Boxcar Betty's for their amazing chicken sandwich while Kevin loves getting a slice of cake from Kaminsky's. It is nice to walk around and soak up the local culture. It is such a relaxing and friendly environment as everybody we have ever met there is so helpful, welcoming and just authentically nice. Each time we arrive in Charleston, it is like coming home and we cannot wait to share that feeling with a child.
Our Pup, Harlie
We have one fur baby, Harlie, who is a tri-color Cocker Spaniel. She is the cutest dog in the world! We've had her since she was 7 weeks old and was smaller than Kevin's shoe. Our families were excited when we brought her home and has been a part of her life ever since. She loves that her grandmas come over every day to spend time and play with her in our backyard each day we are at work. We do admit that she is a little spoiled! She takes part in all of our family traditions, including unwrapping her own Christmas gifts she gets from our family and friends. She loves playing with our friends children when they come over for gatherings. She is one of the most affectionate dogs that anybody has met.
We have a pretty laid back lifestyle. We enjoy spending time at home, working in the yard, going to the local farmers' market and art fairs.
At the end of the week, we will get together at a friend's home for a relaxing evening by a firepit where kids of all ages enjoy games and activities.
We like to plan outings with friends, such as outdoor ice skating, sledding and going to area attractions and music venues.
One of our favorite events each year is when we host a summer cookout that we invite family, friends and neighbors too, where the kids run around our backyard, play in a bounce house and the adults enjoy everybody's company. (OK, the adults enjoy the bounce house, too!)
We envision a child being the center of our lifestyle and we look forward to discovering new fun things to do together as a family! We look forward to creating and sharing lots of new memories and family traditions, such as family vacations and holidays with family and friends. We are looking forward to helping a child grow, learn and love.
Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a four-bedroom home with a large, fenced-in backyard near our state's capital, Madison, which is consistently ranked as one of the top cities to live in for families in the nation. Our home is in a family friendly neighborhood with lots of children to play with. We are at the end of a cul-de-sac on a quiet street, which turns into a great kickball diamond for the neighborhood kids!
Our neighborhood is always very festive for the holidays. The homes are always decorated for the holidays, especially Christmas. It's so much fun to drive around and look at all the lights and get into the holiday spirit!
The elementary school backs up to our property and we are within walking distance to a nice park that has a great playground. A new splash pad is also being built nearby our house. There are so many family activities to do near us that we can't wait to share with a child!
In Madison, there is a children's museum, a beautiful free zoo, a weekly farmers market and countless numbers of art, food and music festivals. We are even an hour away from one of the largest water parks in the country. We cannot wait to take a child to all these fun family activities!
Our Extended Families
We are a very family oriented couple and our family all lives close by. Kevin's mom lives 20 minutes away and Tracy's mom is just 5 minutes away. Kevin's mom retired from healthcare and Tracy's mom was in childcare for over 25 years. They both cannot wait to shower a grandchild with love. Kevin has one older brother who is married with two teenagers and Tracy has one younger brother. Tracy is also very close to her uncle who has been like a second father to her. Tracy, and his daughter, Catherine, have grown up like sisters. Our families cannot wait for a child to fuss over and to love. This will be the first grandchild on Tracy's side, so to say a child will be doted over is an understatement!
We love getting together and hosting family gatherings at our home. We always host Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and birthday celebrations. In the summer, we enjoy getting together and having cookouts with our family and friends.
Our family and friends are so excited to help us welcome a child into our home. This child will be surrounded by love, not only by us, but by all of them as well.
From Us to You
We want to thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We write this letter with excitement and great emotion because we know how much our lives will forever change in such an amazing and beautiful way. We know that you are probably filled with so many different emotions as you consider adoption for your child. It is amazing to think that people that do not know each other will forever be weaved together purely for the love of a child.
We have been married since April 2007, but have known each other since August 2004. We met at work and still work with each other to this day. Tracy is a respiratory therapist while Kevin is part of the management team. It is great that we can spend a lot of our time together at work not just at home. Our work family has been very supportive in our journey to extend our family with a child and, like us, cannot wait for that to happen.
As individuals, Kevin enjoys learning how to do new things, like home improvement projects as Tracy is always coming up with new projects to do around the home as a family. He likes to work on his classic cars(something he learned from his grandpa). Kevin holds the lessons he learned from his parents dearly, most importantly," If you can do something for somebody you do it, no questions asked, no thoughts of getting something in return." Tracy is the creative one. She likes to make original Christmas gifts as these have more meaning than store bought gifts. Tracy's newest hobby is gardening, which Kevin thinks is just a secret way to get him to eat more vegetables. We enjoy spending time at home playing in our backyard with our dog, Harlie. She has a nice big fenced in yard to run around and chase squirrels and rabbits.
We are both very close to our families, including the many friends that we consider family. Kevin always says it is hard to tell who is from what side of the family as we all spend so much time together. Family has always been the priority in our life. We like to host family gatherings for the holidays, birthdays or just for the fun of it. We are also lucky to have been shown by our parents and grandparents that family is also there during the trying times. Please know that your child will be welcomed into this loving family with open arms.
We both feel that education is an important part in a child's life. It is not just something you learn in a book, but also what you experience that makes up your education. Some of our favorite learning experiences include our travels. We love going to Charleston, South Carolina every year as it feels now like we are going home each time we visit. We have started taking road trips across the United States and are looking forward to exploring as many states as we can. Just this spring we traveled through 10 states. We've already made some great memories along the way and look forward to making more with your child. We realize that not only will we have lots to share and teach your child, but he or she will surely teach us, as well.
It has been a very long journey to get where we are now. We underwent many different infertility treatments before realizing that adoption was the way we were always meant to grow our family. We make this promise to you that we will always love, nurture and support your child through life. We want to assure you that we will let your child know what an amazing woman you are. We will also tell them how much we honor your decision to make this unselfish act of love for your child. Please know that we will always honor our commitment to sharing letters, calls, photos, emails and visits to whatever level you are comfortable with as your child grows. It takes a very brave and special person to make this sacrifice and to put their child's needs above their own. We admire you for considering this brave choice not only for you and your child, but also for us.
