Frank & Heather

We are high school sweethearts that have been together for eight years. We are a military couple devoted to family and friends and would be blessed to open our home to a little one. We are unable to have children of our own but hope to adopt and foster children to share all the love we have to give.

Our Leisure Time

With Our Pups, Riley & Gus

While we are off work or over the weekend, we enjoy a variety of activities and events. We enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities and with the current area we are in, we have access to a wide variety of places and things to do. We find a majority of our leisure time occupied by our dogs. We commonly walk them and take them on hikes along rivers and lakes or event just around the neighborhood. When our dogs are finally worn out, our all-time favorite thing to do is to sit along water, weather permitting, and/or listen to live music. When we first moved to our home, we found all the good places to eat, which typically involves an ice cream and candy shop which we usually go to after walking around. Movies are a large part of our activities and we often enjoy watching them at home, although we do occasionally "splurge" and go to the theater for the full cinematic event. We are best friends and find that even the most "boring" activity can be fun and interesting. Whether we are walking through the mall or going grocery shopping, we just enjoy being in each other's company and always find a game to play to make things a little more interesting.

Our Favorite Vacation Spot

Frank Loves to Build Sand Castles!

For Frank, his favorite vacation spot is on the beach. He can wake up early in the morning, spend the entire day on the sand and in the water, then stay up for music by the water and a seafood dinner. He had a great time on our cruise to the Bahamas because we got to play with the dolphins, explore new beaches, and had music on the water every evening with unlimited amounts of food options.

San Francisco is Heather's Favorite Place

For Heather, her favorite vacation spot is San Francisco. There is so much to explore by the wharf and different sections of the city have accounts for history. Heather has family that lives in San Francisco and because she does not get to see them often, she loves to visit, find new places to shop and eat and she loves to watch the whales on the cool crisp mornings, just outside the city.

Our Family Traditions

Some family traditions that we share involve our family and also our extended families. Daily traditions include always eating dinner together, we see this as a way to spend quality time with one another and talk about how our days went. During holidays, due to our big families, we often have a large number of events and other plans. During Halloween, we always go to a pumpkin patch or apple orchard to pick out the biggest pumpkin so that we can make pumpkin seeds for snacks and a scary pumpkin. Christmas time is always brought in by putting up our tree. Every year if we travel to a new state or big city we buy an ornament representing that memory so that we can put it on our tree the next year. Christmas mornings are spent with family and the opening of presents for the little ones in our family. Thanksgiving is typical as in most families with everyone getting together and enjoying the company of each other over a mountain of food. Summers are spent at the beach, which is our favorite place to be during the hot months. Our traditions are ever growing and we look forward to adding more.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a military community therefore it is safe and family-oriented. In fact, we are one of the only families on our block without children. Therefore, your child will have many other children to play with, either outside riding their bike or in the back pasture on the playground. We have three neighborhood swimming pools available, within a five minute drive onto the base, as well as an on post bowling alley, children's center, more parks, a movie theater and a library. The base holds monthly family events at each of these locations, and offers plays throughout the year which have included Paw Patrol, Sesame Street, and Thomas the Tank Engine, just within this past year.

Neighborhood Pool

Our neighborhood is generally a quiet place, after the children have all turned in for the evening. Families are considerate of their neighbors here. We live in a three bedroom townhouse where we share walls with one family but have had no concerns. Your child will have his/her own room and bathroom that is completely set up with Winnie the Pooh and other woodland creatures. This room has become the favorite in the house. We also have a back patio that has become a favorite past time to watch our dogs play and to have fires and toast marshmallows in the early summer and fall seasons.

Our Extended Families

Family Dinner

We are high school sweethearts, both from Woodbridge, Virginia, therefore both of our families are close by. Heather's family is Italian so whenever we get together there is always food and generally some presents from grandma (Mema). Frank's family is Ecuadorian so they too are very family-oriented and believe everyone should always be fed and showered with love and gifts. When we are all together, we have massive feast-like meals. We generally take the kids to the park or outside to play baseball, as that is the favored sport for both families. We like to incorporate outings to the aquarium, zoo, and take full advantage of the museums in D.C. Our family is unique in that there are two sisters (ages 7 and 3) on Heather's side that she has helped raise and care for throughout the years. We have also been selected as our nephew's Godparents and are proud to step into that role.

With Family by the Water

Because we are so great with the little ones in our families, both sides are very excited as we begin our adoption journey. We have so much love to give to your child and a family that is too big not to share. We are excited and hopeful about bringing a little one into this loud, loving, Italian and Ecuadorian mix of a family.

From Us to You

Hi there -

The two of us struggled very much with how to write this letter. We cannot begin to understand your situation, or where you must be emotionally, but we do understand that you made an incredibly beautiful choice to consider adoption. We are so thankful that you have decided to allow us to have the chance to grow our family in such a unique and special way. We hope that we will be able to show our support for you in this process and for years to come. Your bravery will give us the most amazing gift, and we are immensely grateful that you have taken the time to consider us.

We have been together since high school, for a total of eight years. We were married in 2016 just before Frank joined the Army. We met in physics class and immediately fell for one another. As a couple, we strive to be adventurous, fun-loving, and passionate. We love to travel and have a silly tradition to collect a Christmas ornament from every new location. We work hard to respect one another and keep our relationship as fun and wonderful as it was in the beginning. Our dogs, Gus and Riley, are a major part of our life and we like to take them on hikes or for walks around the lake. Gus and Riley have really shown us how to love something so purely and have taught us to be responsible for other beings. While we have an amazing little family already, we really hope to grow our love into something more.

We want to let you know that we are in no way perfect - we certainly have our ups and downs. What we can promise is we have a lot of love to give and are blessed to have the opportunity to give that love to a child. Both of us are dedicated to our individual growth, to continuously strengthen our marriage, and to be the best parents we can possibly be.

We have always known deep down that adoption was in our hearts; our struggle with infertility solidified the reality that we were meant to adopt and have the special privilege of growing our family with the help of many others. We are pursuing this journey with everything we have and are ready and eager to grow and are happy to embrace you and your family into our lives.

We are prepared for this to be an open adoption, adjusted to the birth mother's comfort. We would love to send photos and emails with updates, as well as letters from the child, as he or she grows older. We would like to extend the opportunity to connect with the child during visits and/or phone calls and will discuss this with the birth mother to create a more definitive plan that fits all parties' wishes, within the best interest of the child.

Through both of our lives and careers, we have enthusiastically sought to expand our circle of friends. As a result, we have a strong and warm tribe behind us who are also excited and committed to the preservation and happiness of our family. We know our village will welcome this child with open hearts and smiling faces, and each of us will show this baby so much love.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us, and best wishes to you.
