Sam & Kim
Thank you for considering us for potential parents for your child. We are honored that you are taking the time to read this. We are looking forward to expanding our family through adoption and would be blessed to have the honor to raise your child. We will provide a loving and supportive family for your child to grow into the best person they can be.
Why We Chose Adoption
We have two children, Leighlia and Luka. Our children are very important in our lives. We enjoy spending quality time together and they love to help us around the house. They both very much enjoy playing card games and creating crafts together. They are incredibly excited to have a little siblings to enjoy life with.
Leighlia helps with planting flowers every spring and gets very excited every time a new one blooms. She is a great helper as well. She loves to help cook dinner and special desserts. She especially loves making homemade tortillas with her grandma. Leighlia is currently in gymnastics and plays spring soccer.
Luka is a very energetic 4 year old. He loves to help dad shovel the snow or build crafts for our home, most recently he helped to make a bench for in our house. Luka plays soccer and loves to go swimming, sledding and kayaking. Luka loves his special time going to the barber with dad every month.
We have always desired to have at least three children. Following a very difficult delivery with our son, we know that adoption is the way we are meant to complete our family. We have been discussing the possibility of adoption since the beginning of our relationship together in 2002 and Kim has always believed that she would one day adopt. It feels as though it is something that was meant to be, perhaps a calling from God.
We love to travel and explore different areas of the world. Kim spends her time reading about different travel opportunities we could take. Our family has taken several mini vacations and our children have had some great experiences, including LegoLand and Disneyland.
We love to do things together as a family and with our extended family. In our community there are several family oriented activities to attend. David Street Station is an area we enjoy most. They offer a variety of activities from ice skating, Cinco de Mayo festivities, Hot Air Balloon Festival, water splash pad, and Wyoming football game showings. Our family also enjoys walks, time at the park, sledding and bike riding.
During the summer, we spend several weekends out at the lake. We have a small camper and kayaks to enjoy the summer weather. We have several friends who also enjoy camping, fishing and kayaking who join us in these activities. Kim does not work in the summer, which allows for extra time attending community activities, such as story time at the library, and spending hot summer days at the pool. Our family spends the majority of our free time with friends or family. We feel human relationships are extremely important and we love building memories together.
Our family is also very active in our church. Our two children attend religious education classes and we all attend mass weekly. Overall, we are a fun laid back family who loves the small things in life.
Sam is Mexican American and Kim is Caucasian. Being a biracial family we are always attempting to ensure our children have an understanding of various cultures. We attend any local event that highlights cultures outside of our own. We also enjoy taking vacations outside of our state. Our children have enjoyed spending time in various regions of the United States to help them appreciate cultural differences. As parents we also understand that so much of cultural diversity is learned in the home. We can do small things every day to help facilitate this learning; We watch films of different cultural celebrations, read books with a variety of races, and help our children learn of different religious traditions and practices. We are proactive in seeking out people and places that appreciate diversity.
Our House and Neighborhood
We live in beautiful, sunny Wyoming. Our five bedroom house is located in a new development three miles from town. Several of our neighbors are young families, which is so fun for the kids to play with one another around the neighborhood. Our house is less than a block from a new park, so we often walk or ride our bikes down to enjoy time on the play equipment. We are very lucky to live a block from our best friends. All of our kids love spending time in the neighborhood together and frequently enjoy time playing in each other's backyards or sledding in the winter. Our neighborhood is extremely helpful. It is very common to come home to find someone has shoveled your driveway while you were away at work. One of our neighbors is an amazing cook and will frequently bring us yummy desserts to try.
We often dine out at a family restaurant near our home. This restaurant is a remodeled airport hangar. The kids love looking at all of the model airplane displays and propeller fans. This restaurant also features a small arcade and two large bounce houses to entertain the kids while we wait for our meal.
Our Extended Families
Kim was raised with three siblings in a rural community on a ranch. Her family all lives within two hours of us so we are able to spend a lot of time with them. Our children love spending time with their cousins. We are able to spend holidays together, take trips together as well as frequent sleepovers. Sam was raised with his parents and one brother.
Sam's parents immigrated to the United States prior to his birth; this limits the amount of extended family he has near. However, his parents and brother live close to us and spend time with us very often. Sam's parents are very involved in our lives. His mother has helped with childcare for both of our kids while we work which has helped to develop their Spanish language skills. His brother lives in the same town and our children love when "Tio" comes to pick them up from school.
Both of our families are anxiously excited for us to expand our family through adoption and cannot wait to meet the newest family member!
From Us to You
We are so excited to have you consider us to parent your child, this is an honor. We cannot wait to provide a life full of love, support, and opportunities. We promise your child will receive unconditional love, emotional and financial support, a safe and stable home, and a good education. We believe you are looking into adoption as an option because you love your child. We know this is a very difficult decision for you and thank you so very much for considering us as parents. This parental love allows you to put this child's needs before your own when making this very difficult choice.
We have been married for over 10 years after dating for six. Your child will have the opportunity to grow up in a close knit neighborhood enjoying a life of playing outside, enjoying the sunny days, whether it be sledding or riding their bike to the park. He or she will have many traveling adventures, lots of crafting activities and laughs at community events.
Your child will be loved by so many family members and friends. We have several members of our extended family nearby to share in the life of your child. The child will enjoy weekends at the zoo, hot summer days at the pool and time learning the life of ranching. They will enjoy all of the holidays with all their big and little cousins, Gramma, Papa, Mama and Tata, as well as several aunts and uncles.
Your child will enjoy attending school with their big brother and sister. Every evening they will all sit together to complete their homework and learn a love of reading. We try to sit and have dinner together every evening, allowing us the opportunity to support our children even when we aren't with them during their day.
During the summer your child will enjoy spending extra time with Kim. This time is spent playing at the park, taking hikes, picnics in the park, vacation bible school and many more activities. The child will also love the days spent in our five bedroom house playing cards and board games.
We plan to teach your child about their beginnings, where they were born and who you are. We realize this choice will affect more than just you. Your child may have a grandmother, a grandfather, and aunts and uncles who love her or him as well. Because we know this, we are open to continuing to share this child's life with them as well. We would ensure you will receive letters and pictures to help celebrate all your child's milestones. We would love to keep in touch throughout the years sharing pictures, letters and updates!
We thank you for considering us. We realize you have a very difficult journey ahead of you and you will be in our prayers through this difficult time.
