Brandon & Beth
We believe that adoption is a gift and we do not take it lightly. We are so grateful that you are reading our profile and considering us to pour our lives into your child. We believe we have so much love and a happy life to give. To choose us to be your child's parents would mean everything to us. We hope you consider us and we look forward to sharing this journey together.
In our spare time we like to be with extended family and outside creating new adventures. We have family who live close by and we spend time at birthday parties and at weekend gatherings swimming and grilling in the summer. We regularly read books together and work on things that our 8 year old son is interested in such as science projects and making robots. We enjoy the water in the summer and regularly visit different beaches and go kayaking and fishing. During warm weather months, we go camping with grandparents and visit local parks to ride our bikes on the miles of trails.
We love to travel and road trip around the country learning about new places and exploring new cultures and foods. It is a great way to teach our son as well as your child about other places and experiences to develop their world view. Last year we were able to take our son with us to Hawaii. None of us had been there before and loved seeing the beautiful mountains and oceans. The volcano erupted soon after we left and it was very exciting for our son to be able to see the areas we had visited on the news showing the moving lava. This was the first vacation and airplane ride he had ever been on. It has been an amazing experience to show and teach him new things about different geographical areas and cultures.
We live a life based on moral principles and structure. The two of us work a full time job and most evenings are spent at home. Beth works full time from her home office most of the time. Many evenings every week are taken up with activities, such as sports that our son plays, or community events at school or at our church.
Evenings at home are spent with our son working on homework, practicing piano and playing with the other kids in the neighborhood. We regularly read together or play games before Carter goes to bed. During the weekend we often visit family, spend time with friends and go to church. We enjoy working on projects around the house and our son loves learning how to do things from Brandon. During the summer months we spend a lot of time outside and take weekend trips to visit family or local events as time allows.
Why We Chose Adoption
We are unable to have biological children and have chosen adoption as a way to grow our family. Our 8 year old son came to us through adoption just last year. Close friends and family knew that we had started the adoption process to grow our family. During that time, a friend reached out to us with an adoption opportunity. That friend's extended family member had been deceased with an only child named Carter, who did not have anyone able to care for him. We welcomed Carter into our home and he became our son. It has been the greatest joy having Carter in our lives.
He is a very happy and loving kid who loves school and being around other kids. Beth helps him learn more advanced math and teaches him piano when he gets home from school, which he enjoys. He spends a lot of time working in the garage with Brandon and loves learning how to build things and how to work on cars. He is adored by his grandparents and spends a lot of time with them and his new cousins. Everyday at breakfast he asks if he can go to his cousin’s house because he wants to have someone to play with. He is very much looking forward to having a sibling to talk to and play with. He will be a good and loving big brother.
Our Extended Families
When friends and family are around during the summer, we have fun grilling and enjoying the pool or beach at the lake. Beth loves games and will engage all the kids in a card game or yard game.
Beth's sister's family lives in the same area, so we spend a lot of time with them and their kids. Both Brandon and Beth's parents live about 2 hours away, so we spend weekends together often.
Family traditions involve eating homemade pasta, rolls and cookies from recipes that have been passed down in the family. It is a tradition for us to host an Easter gathering every year. We go to church in the morning, then the whole extended family on both sides comes to our house for a big lunch, egg hunt and kite flying. Everyone is invited and our families are unique because they accept everyone with open arms.
Our families are unique because they accept everyone with open arms.Beth has a very large family with many nieces and nephews, and Brandon has just one sibling. Both families are very excited to welcome this child and share a life together.
Our House and Neighborhood
The community in Michigan where we live has a small town feel but we are close to larger areas with plenty to do. Our town has community events such as 4th of July parade, Food truck rally where we can try all the newest food in the area, and free Concerts & art in the park every Friday all summer long.
We live in a very safe neighborhood. There are a lot of young families living here with kids riding their bikes up and down the streets and playing from one house to another. Everyone knows everyone and is kind to each child that comes along.
Our 5 bedroom house has plenty of room to welcome a new child. One of our favorite rooms to hang out is the large open living room with tons of seating. In the winter, we curl up by the fireplace and enjoy a movie or play games on the large coffee table.
One of the things we love about our neighborhood is the private lake with a beach and swimming area. All the neighborhood kids along with our son Carter love to build sand castles and swim there all summer long.
From Us to You
Thank you for taking the time to read our family profile. We respect the courage and strength of your choice. We can only imagine how difficult this decision must be for you. We hope that learning more about us will give you comfort as you consider making an adoption plan for your child.
We have been married for 10 years and had a great friendship for 3 years before dating and getting married. We truly have a mutual respect for each other and love being together. We are committed to loving and serving each other for as long as we both shall live. Sounds cheesy, but it's true! We have dreamed of raising children together and planned to adopt even before we learned that we would not have our own biological children.
We live in a nice suburban neighborhood on a couple acres. The lake nearby is one of our favorite spots to hang out and play with our 8 year old son during hot summer days. We all enjoy swimming, grilling delicious food, and exploring nature together. Our downtown is an easy walk from home and it is a fun place to watch the parade on the 4th of July, trick or treat at Halloween, listen to live music in the park as well as enjoy all the good restaurants. As soon as the weather warms up, you will find us biking and running around the neighborhood and on local trails as well as kayaking on our lake. In the evening when we are not busy, we are usually watching movies or binging on the latest Netflix series. Beth previously owned a bakery in NY and thoroughly enjoys baking something sweet for everyone to enjoy. Brandon is a very caring leader and great provider. He spends a lot of time teaching our 8 year old son all of the things he is curious to know.
Road tripping around the US to explore new places and spending time with family are some of our favorite ways to vacation. In the summer and fall, Brandon’s parents take our son Carter camping for a few days. We also love to spend weekends with Beth’s family on the farm where she grew up which is a couple hours away. We are close to both of our families and we love spending time with the many nieces and nephews we have. Our families have wholeheartedly welcomed our choice of adoption to grow our family and are eager to see us add more love to the family.
Faith in God is the core of our life from which we get the morals and standards we live by. To us, this means that we treat everyone with equal love and respect. We choose to teach this to our son and future kids as well.
We hope to have contact through letters/calls/emails after placement or whatever means you are open to. We appreciate you considering adoption for your child and we pray that your decision is blessed with everything you are hoping for your child.
