Steve & Erin
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and hopefully consider us as potential parents for your child. We are a fun, loving, and supportive couple that look forward to sharing that with a child. We know you have a tremendous difficult decision to make and we are truly in awe of your strength and courage throughout this journey.
Our Favorite Vacation Spot
While we travel every year to many places in the U.S. (like our family's summer camp in Vermont, or Disney World) our favorite vacation spot is Ireland. Erin lived in Galway, Ireland for a year in college and it is where we went on our honeymoon. We try to visit each year and hope to purchase a small vacation home within the next 15 years so our friends and family can come and visit with us. We consider it our second home.
Ireland is magical; with gorgeous countryside, history around each corner, and bustling cities. We enjoying hiking, touring historical sites and castles, discovering new areas, and making new friends. It is a place where we can leave our work behind and relax. We already see sharing this special place with our future family.
Our absolute favorite location is County Cork in the South Shore. Erin loves the Kilarney National Park. Walking through the trails, and touring the Muckross Estate. Steve's favorite place is Midleton, Ireland and learning the process of how his favorite Irish Whiskey is made.
Our Leisure Time
Our family enjoys spending time outdoors. Depending on the time of year, we spend our weekends walking or hiking with our dog Sonoma, going out on my sister's sail boat in Boston harbor, playing lawn or board games with friends, and sitting around our fire pit. We also love to curl up on the couch for a movie night with each other. We do have a weekly date night which is usually Friday night and we take turns planning and surprising each other on where we are going.
Erin is an avid equestrian and loves to spend the day riding or supporting her friends at horse shows. She has ridden for 25+ years and she hopes to share her love of horses with her child. Her horse, Meeko, is currently with a friend in Virginia but will be back in New England at the end of 2020. Steve is a huge football fan and Sundays are made for football, friends, and food.
We truly love to travel both domestically or internationally. We look forward to making family trips with a child and exploring what different cities, states, and countries have to offer. Erin loves to plan our travels and trying new adventures each trip. Making memories together is important to us and living each day to the fullest.
We have a 6-year-old Golden Retriever named Sonoma. We've had her since she was 8 weeks old and she is the sweetest and most lovable dog we have ever had. She also loves children and we know will be a great "big sis" to any child. We love taking her for walks in our neighborhood or off leash on our local trails. She is well-trained and goes almost everywhere with us. She loves any and all car rides, going swimming, and stopping for ice cream. She is a "people" person and loves to meet new friends where ever she goes. She is also quite the cuddler and loves to curl up on the couch with Steve or at the end of our bed at night. Sonoma is a member of the family and loves us as much as we love her. We know she will protect and love any child that comes into our "pack."
Erin also has a 13-year-old Holsteiner horse that is on lease with a friend in Virginia. He will be back in New England at the end of 2020 and she loves to jump or go trail riding with him. One of my favorite places to ride is the beach where you can gallop in the surf.
Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a four-bedroom colonial home with a large fenced in back yard in southern New Hampshire. Our home has 15 rooms and is over 4,300 sq. feet. We love spending time in our back yard or walking the quiet streets of our neighborhood. Our neighbors all have young children and we live on a cul-de-sac. We moved to our town because of the excellent school system, which is considered one of the top three school systems in our state. Our town also provides a town beach on a small lake, town park with sport fields, walking trails, playground and a great farm with lots of animals, veggies, and ice cream. We also have a wonderful amusement and water park only 10 minutes away from us. Our town has a great community and hosts many holiday festivals, as well as an array of events such as 5K races, pumpkin decorating, holiday events, and parades.
Most of our friends have small children so we look forward to many play dates together, such as taking them to the aquarium or science museum, to the beach, apple picking, or go for a picnic and look at the wonderful scenery we have in New England. We live within an hour drive of Boston, Massachusetts, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, or the beaches of southern Maine. Our family also has a camp on Lake Champlain in northern Vermont that we love to visit.
Our Extended Families
Both sides of our families are thrilled for us to add a new addition. This will be the first grandchild for Steve's parents and the second for Erin's parents, so there will be so many family members to love and care for them!
Erin has an identical twin sister, older brother and older sister who she is extremely close to. All live within 45 minutes of our house and we see each other at least once per month for dinner and games. Her twin sister and her husband have a large sail boat that we love to go out on in the Boston Harbor. Erin's parents live in New Hampshire for half the year (about 30 minutes away from us) and the other half of the year they live in Florida. We visit them in Florida once a year and also go to Disney World for a couple of days. Erin has a large extended family that lives in Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire; all within a couple hours' drive.
Steve is an only child and is extremely close to his parents who live 20 minutes from us. We see each other at least once a week and take a family vacation each year together. This year we are taking a cruise to the Greek Islands. Steve's dad is retired and his mom is close to retirement so they are looking forward to babysitting and spoiling their future grandchild. Steve and his dad love watching football together and his mom loves to cook and is the go-to-host for holidays and birthdays. Steve's extended family live within 30 minutes of us and we usually host a couple game/football get-togethers with them each year.
From Us to You
Hello! Our names are Erin and Steve. We are so excited to become parents and can't wait to share our love with a child! We are honored and thankful that you are taking the time to read our profile and learn more of us as a family. We understand the difficulty of this courageous and selfless decision that you are considering. We admire your strength, courage, and love for your baby. Our hope is that you find comfort knowing that our love has no limits for your child. We want you to know, from the bottom of our hearts, that your child will be genuinely adored and cherished in our family.
Since the beginning of our relationship, we've known that we wanted to start a family. Our struggle with infertility was a challenging time in our lives, but we feel it has ultimately brought us closer together and strengthened our resolve to provide love and a life for future children. Looking back on that part of our lives, we feel content with our experiences, because it has led us down the path of adoption.
Please know that your child will be welcomed into a caring and stable family. We truly feel we have found in each other our best friend and soul mate. We are very much in love with each other and look forward to sharing our love with your baby. We take advantage of every opportunity we have to spend time together, not only time alone but also with our friends and families. We enjoy entertaining at our home. We've have had gatherings for everything from birthdays and bridal showers to Thanksgiving and Greek Orthodox Easter day. Our home has become a popular gathering place for our family and friends. We look forward to hosting many more gatherings that will include your child.
We are excited for the future. Our families are very close knit and we look forward to our child participating in many of the same activities as we did as children such as family vacations, sports events, and school activities. Our families are extremely supportive of us and our decision to adopt. They are beyond excited at having another child in the family - especially both sets of our parents. They cant wait to love and spoil a grandchild.
We are open to the role you will play, whatever you choose that to be. You are significant to us and ALWAYS will be. We would tell our child about you as early as possible, and continue throughout their life. We are committed to sharing your child's life with you through letters and pictures and promise to maintain a level of connection between our two families in whatever way you feel comfortable. You are extremely important to us and we welcome your input on the kinds of communication you would like.
We are very fortunate to be in the position to provide a good stable life for a child and would be incredibly grateful if you chose to entrust us with this honor. No words can truly convey the excitement, anticipation, and joy we feel when we think of being parents. We acknowledge the immense strength it must take for you to make this decision and hope you find solace in knowing your child will be well cared for and tremendously loved.
